Changes coming for Medical Assistance recipients

Everyone who receives Medical Assistance will need to complete a renewal packet within the next year. This used to be a requirement but was waived during the pandemic. Now it is starting again. When you receive the renewal packet depends on when you enrolled.
As an example, people who enrolled in July will receive a postcard reminder by April, followed by the actual renewal packet by May. This must be completed and processed by June 30 to avoid losing coverage.
What you need to do:
  1. If you have moved in the past three years or will you be moving soon, update your contact information. It’s important so we can reach you when it’s time to renew your health insurance. Visit mn.gov/dhs/mycontactinfo.
  2. When you get the postcard, hang on to it as a reminder. You can learn more about the process and how to prepare here: Renew my coverage / Minnesota Department of Human Services (mn.gov)
  3. When you get the renewal packet, fill it out and be sure to sign it. Follow the instructions included in the packet for how to submit it.
  4. If you need help completing the packet, there are trained navigators who can assist you. Find local help here: Help from a Navigator / MNsure
