Spring Gardening Extravaganza

Color Your World

Explore the science and beauty of color in your garden! This year's series of seminars and workshops will focus on color in your flower gardens and landscape. Let noted local artist Adam Swanson inspire you to design with color. Learn more about nutritional impacts of color in your vegetable garden. Find out what to expect with weather in 2024 and implementing weather resilient gardening practices. Attendees receive the 2024 SGE Resource Book. Lunch and refreshments are included.
We'll have amazing speakers and presenters including dahlia and orchid expert, Robert-Jan Quene, County Horticulturist Bob Olen, Extension Agriculture Educator, Troy Salzer, and the Extension Master Gardeners.
Participants will be able to attend THREE of the following workshop/seminars (subject to change):
  • Container Gardening
  • Pollinator Gardens
  • Growing Dahlias
  • Growing Orchids
  • Growing Blueberries
  • Propagating Houseplants
  • Constructing Bee Houses & Habitats
  • Growing and pruning apples
  • Growing great northern lawns
  • Bee lawns and alternatives
  • Basic Soil Fertility/Soil testing
  • Making vegetables taste great

Garden & Lawn

The extension office provides resources and sponsors educational events for St. Louis County residents interested in home gardening and horticulture in their community. 

Master Gardener Program

The Extension office provides leadership for the University of Extension Master Gardener Program for St. Louis County. The Master Gardener Program trains volunteers to educate and inform people in their communities about horticulture.
