The Assessor's Role

The Assessor is responsible for the equalization of assessments throughout St. Louis County. The department accomplishes this mission by listing, classifying, and valuing all real and personal property subject to property tax.

The Assessor administers the assessment for the County by advising the County Board and local jurisdictions on assessment matters. The department also provides programs, procedures, policies, and maps pertaining to assessment.
