The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs administers many programs that assist Minnesota Veterans, their dependents and survivors in securing benefits. 

Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance

The State Soldier's Assistance Program provides assistance to veterans who are unable to work as a result of temporary disability. The assistance available is in the categories of:

  • Special Needs Grants
  • Dental and Optical
  • Subsistence Benefits (veterans with a disability keeping them from working):
    • shelter payments (rent and mortgage)
    • utilities

State Veterans Cemetery

State Veterans Cemetery

The State Veterans Cemetery is located in Little Falls and Preston.

The Duluth State Veterans Cemetery is currently under construction.

There is no cost for the veteran to be buried in a State Veterans Cemetery.

The spouse is eligible but is charged cost of burial.

Pre-Registration is available to ensure your eligibility.
