The proposed Central Range Public Transportation Building includes a building with offices, a garage, repair bays, and a truck wash for maintenance vehicles. Additional buildings will house salt storage, brine machinery, and general storage. A fuel station and gravel storage area will be located outside. Staff parking, fencing, utilities, and stormwater treatment facilities will be provided. The facility, which includes a geothermal HVAC system and is designed for rooftop solar, will replace one outdated facility.
State rules for environmental review specify actions for which the project proposer must complete an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW). This includes new construction of an industrial, commercial, or institutional facility with over 100,000 square feet of new buildings if the facility is located in an unincorporated area (the threshold is higher for facilities located within city limits). The proposed facility would have approximately 125,000 square feet of new buildings.
