Beginning Thursday, Sept. 21, Haines Road will be closed between Highway 53 and Arrowhead Road due to construction at the interesection of Haines and Arrowhead. Motorists will still be able to access businesses along that stretch from Highway 53.

Area traffic safety agencies are partnering to conduct a red light enforcement campaign the week of Sept. 25. The goal is to reduce the number of accidents caused by motorists running red lights.

Five county roads in the area of Makinen, Markham and Palo had to be temporarily closed due to flooding caused by heavy rainfall. The roads are expected to remain closed through the weekend.

A wetter than normal summer and discovery of more rock than anticipated has delayed progress on the rebuilding of 4th Street in Duluth. The work from 23rd Avenue East to Wallace Avenue, and on Wallace Avenue will be delayed until next spring.

The intersection of 21st Avenue East and 4th Street will be temporarily closed beginning August 23.  Detour signs to 24th Avenue East and Kent Road will be in place.
