Property Disposal

SURPLUS, OBSOLETE, OR USED PROPERTY

The St. Louis County Purchasing Division is authorized to transfer to, or between, county departments, boards, commissions, and agencies supplies, materials, and equipment which are surplus by one agency, but which may be needed by another, and for the disposal by sale, after receipt of competitive bids, or by auction of supplies, materials and equipment which are surplus, obsolete, or unused.

DONATIONS

To extend the life of goods, reduce landfill waste, and support environmental initiatives, the Purchasing Division is looking for 501(c)3 organizations who may be interested in items which may be too small (less than nominal in value) of significance to auction.

By donating, instead of discarding items, we can prevent them from ending up in landfills, where they can take up space and/or release harmful pollutants. Additionally, donating allows for the reuse and repurposing of items within our local community, and reducing the need for new production and the associated environmental impacts, such as resource extraction and manufacturing.

If you are a part of a local area 501(c)(3) organization, and are interested in receiving donations of surplus items from St. Louis County, please send an email to us via our contact information in the upper right. Proof of 501(c)(3) organization status is required, Please include 501(c)(3) documentation with your response. Thank you.
