St. Louis County snowplows drive a cumulative 33,000 miles during three-day storm

After an unseasonably dry winter, the heavy March snowstorm blanketed all of St. Louis County with snow totals ranging from nine to 24 inches. The St. Louis County Public Works team, which is responsible for maintaining 3,000 miles of roads, continues to plow and treat the roads to ensure safe traveling conditions.

Spring load restrictions have now been announced for the North Zone of Minnesota, which includes the majority of St. Louis County, from north of US Highway 2 and east of State Highway 33. Restrictions will go into effect on Monday, March 11, at 12:01 a.m.

Public meeting set to discuss future reconstruction of County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 100 in Aurora

St. Louis County Public Works staff will host a public meeting to listen to community input in preparation for the reconstruction of a nearly two-mile stretch of County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 100 in Aurora. The meeting will be Tuesday, March 19, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Aurora Community Center, 15 West 1st Avenue North. The meeting also will be available to view virtually. Spring road restrictions announced for portion of St. Louis County roads

Begin March 6th at 12:01am

Spring load restrictions have been announced for the North-Central Zone of Minnesota, which includes the southwest corner of St. Louis County. Restrictions will go into effect on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 12:01 a.m. The North-Central Zone includes the area south of US Highway 2 and west of State Highway 33.

County conducting online surveys to measure public preference for design of two projects

St. Louis County Public Works engineers have created two online surveys to gather additional public input on design options for two upcoming projects in Duluth. Both projects have already involved several public meetings. They are the 40th Avenue West Corridor Project, which includes the intersection with Grand Avenue; and the Piedmont Avenue/24th Avenue West intersection project.
