It's been more than four years since the first public input meetings were held, and 24 months - parts of three construction seasons - since digging began to rebuild 4th Street and replace the utilities that run beneath. On Tuesday, July 31, representatives of St. Louis County and the City of Duluth will join together to celebrate the completion of this $13.8 million project. A news conference will be held at 10 a.m. at the park at the intersection of 4th Street and 20th Avenue East, where Woodland Avenue begins.

On 07/28/2018 at around 1643 hrs. St. Louis County Dispatch received a 911 report of a garage on fire at 4932 Swanstrom Road in Grand Lake Township. The 911 caller, a resident/property owner, reported the garage had been struck by lightning and there were visible open flames.
