Deputies are investigating an incident in which a woman called 911, reporting that while showing a pistol to a friend, the weapon accidentally discharged and struck the man in the leg. The victim was transported by ambulance with what's considered a non-life threatening injury. 

This is the first roundabout in the Duluth/ Hermantown area, and was built to make the intersection safer and improve traffic flow.

The USDA and Minnesota Department of Health has recognized the county's Public Health staff for the work they do with new and expectant moms to promote and support breastfeeding.

St. Louis County Commissioner Pete Stauber has invited Congressman Greg Walden of Oregon to Duluth on Wednesday to learn more about the treatment and recovery help being offered in St. Louis County for people battling opioid addictions. Rep. Walden will visit the Clear Path Clinic, 1402 East Superior Street in Duluth on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
