The portrait will hang on the second floor of the St. Louis County Courthouse to honor Federal Judge Donovan Frank who served as an Assistant St. Louis County Attorney and District Court Judge in Virginia prior to being appointed a federal district judge for the District of Minnesota.

The Board approved a $136.7 million levy for 2019. The amount is a 3.45% increase over the current year, but because of growth in the property tax base, most property owners will actually see a slight decrease in their property tax bill.

On September 22nd at approximately 4:07 P.M., St. Louis County Sheriff's Deputies, Buhl Ambulance, Hibbing Ambulance, and Life Link air medical were dispatched to the report of an ATV crash with injuries near the Buhl City park on Memorial Dr., within the city of Buhl.

St. Louis County Public Health is hosting a large-scale emergency shelter drill involving more than 60 people from six counties and other service organizations. The shelter training will take place Tuesday, September 25, at the Miners Memorial Building, 821 South 9th Avenue West in Virginia.

The traffic lights on Maple Grove Road at the intersections of Loberg Avenue, Haines Road, Burning Tree Road and Mall Drive will be getting an upgrade during the week of Sept. 24-28. The left turn signals will be converted to include flashing yellow arrows. The result will be better consistency in the signals used along the corridor as well as safer left turn movements.
