Father Gregory Boyle, the founder of Homeboy Industries, the largest gang intervention, rehab and re-entry program in the country, will be the keynote speaker kicking off this year's St. Louis County Health and Human Services Conference at the DECC. The 36th annual conference runs October 11-12. Father Boyle's speech will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m., in the DECC's Symphony Hall. The opening ceremony also includes a musical welcome from local singer, dancer and writer Solomon Witherspoon.

At approximately 11:00 AM today, St. Louis County Deputies were dispatched to a two vehicle personal injury accident at the intersection of Hwy 2 and Hwy 194 in Solway Township. 

The 74-year-old Virginia woman was a passenger in a vehicle that had swerved to miss a deer and ended up leaving the road and crashing into a tree. The driver of the vehicle also was injured.
