Due to an increase in dangerous contraband coming into Minnesota Correctional Facilities through the mail, the St. Louis County Jail is implementing a new mail delivery procedure to prioritize the security and well-being of everyone in our facility.
New Mail System: Effective March 1, 2025, the St. Louis County Jail will launch a mail management system through TextBehind®, a mail scanning and printing service used increasingly by state correctional systems and jails across the U.S.
Learn more about TextBehind® at the following website: https://textbehind.com/
- Regular (unprivileged) mail should be sent to the designated P.O. Box for processing.
- TextBehind will copy all items and send the copy to the facility for distribution.
- Each piece of mail will include a cover letter summarizing sender and recipient information, total number of pages, and scanned copies (in color, if appropriate) of the mail contents.
- TextBehind mail processing and delivery services operate Monday through Friday.
Every mail envelope sent to an incarcerated person must contain the following information:
First Name Last name, and LID (LID can be found on the Jail Roster)
