CIVIL PROCESS SERVICE

The Sheriff’s Office Civil Process division is responsible for the delivery of all legal process papers. The office serves the Minnesota Courts, private litigators and the general public in this capacity. Deputies can be tasked with serving of common court documents, such as:
  • Subpoenas
  • Summonses
  • Judicial Orders
  • Writs and Levies
  • Protection or Harassment Restraining Orders
  • Complaints, Petitions or Notices
Civil Process Deputies also perform Sheriff Sales of foreclosed mortgages, executions of property (taking possession thereof after a judicial order), mechanics’ liens, and other lien or property sales.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office accepts personal checks, money orders and cash in exact change only.
