Certified copies of a marriage record are available from the county where the marriage application was made. To search for a marriage record by county, visit Minnesota Official Marriage System.


One certified copy of a marriage record is $9.00. Each additional copy is $9.00. To purchase a certified marriage record from St. Louis County, fill out a request form and visit or mail to a local office.

Order a Marriage Record

To purchase a certified marriage record online from St. Louis County, follow the instructions below.

  •  * Do not pay online until the request form is complete.* St. Louis County offers credit card payments (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover) through ACI Payment Inc. You will be charged a service fee for the use of this service. To pay online, visit the ACI Payments Inc web site listed below. Click on “Local Payments", select the State of "Minnesota", Payment Entity is "St. Louis County" and Payment Type is "Document Copy". Follow the remaining steps as prompted.  On the "Make a Payment" screen, use the Marriage Date as the Document Number so that we may process the order quickly. Print or save the Confirmation of Payment page that you receive from ACI Payments Inc. Attach it to the email you are furnishing to the St. Louis County Recorder's office along with the Marriage Record Request form. Official Payments is located at: https://www.acipayonline.com/index.jsp
  • Email marriage record request and Confirmation of Payment page to birthdeathmarriage@stlouiscountymn.gov .  The record will be mailed via first class mail to the address on the request form.

If you cannot download the Marriage Request form, please call 218-726-2559 or email to birthdeathmarriage@stlouiscountymn.gov to request the form. Allow 1 – 2 weeks for processing of the request to include mail delivery time.
