St. Louis County Public Works to hold open houses at three new facilities

St. Louis County Public Works has completed a multi-year project designed to ensure faster and more effective response for road maintenance. The County has constructed three new Public Works campuses, replacing five aged buildings that could no longer effectively serve modern day equipment and service needs. To celebrate and provide residents a look at the new campuses and their capabilities, St. Louis County Public Works will be hosting open house events at each of the new locations, offering tours of the new buildings and a glimpse of the vehicles.

St. Louis County receives $1.85 million grant to address climate change impacts on Lake Superior coastal region

St. Louis County has been awarded a federal grant totaling $1,849,228 to help address climate change impacts on the coastal region surrounding Lake Superior. The grant is from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Commerce Department and will be paid over four years.

Assessments wrapping up for people affected by June flooding; deadline looms to report damage

It's been six weeks since heavy rains led to significant flooding in parts of St. Louis County. In that time, St. Louis County assessors have visited 716 private properties where damage had been reported and inspected a total of 1,973 structures. With their work on the damage assessment process winding down, the Assessors Department has some important reminders for citizens who sustained damage resulting from the June flooding. Anyone who has not yet reported damage, must contact the Assessors Department by Friday, Aug. 2, in order for it to be inspected. The Assessors Department can be reached at 218-726-2304
