Six new deputies join Sheriff’s Office; nine others recognized for recent promotions

Six new deputies have joined the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office. During a ceremonial pinning of badges held Tuesday at the Public Safety Building, Sheriff Gordon Ramsay welcomed the new deputies - the first group hired since Ramsay took office. The new deputies include Trevor Dowton, Nicholas Brown, Zachary Hway, Saul Jeanetta, Daniel Merrill and Madison Sand.

Structure Fire in Grand Lake Township

At approximately 8pm on December 11th, St. Louis County Deputies and numerous fire departments were dispatched to the 5900 block of Sunny Ln in Grand Lake Township for a house on fire. The fire is believed to have been caused by a space heater in a bathroom.  The house is a total loss due to fire, water and smoke damage.

Williams-Gillard Found Guilty

Williams-Gillard Found Guilty

On December 7, 2023, a jury found Brandon Capone Williams-Gillard, 25, guilty of Aiding and Abetting Second Degree Murder, Aiding and Abetting Second Degree Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, and Drive by Shooting. On August 2, 2023, Mr. Williams-Gillard fired shots from a vehicle on the 2500 block of West 2nd Street in Duluth, MN, causing the death of Paris Kadin Allen and injuring Caleb Reinolt-Nemec.

Fredenberg Township "Explosion" Complaint

On 12/06/2023, at approximately 8:30pm, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office received multiple calls to 911 regarding a possible explosion somewhere within Fredenberg Township.  Reporting parties described the incident as a brief flash of light followed by a loud explosion. On 12/07/2023, at approximately 1:30pm, a property owner in Fredenberg Township called 911 to report possibly finding the source of the complaint on his property, which strongly suggests the explosion was an illegal firework.
