St. Louis County has several openings for community members to serve on its Opioid Remediation Advisory Committee. This is the group tasked with making recommendations on how the county can best invest the funds it received following the national settlement of a class action lawsuit involving several prescription opioid manufacturers and distributors.

St. Louis County Sheriff's Office offers Citizen's Academy for Duluth area

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is offering its popular Citizens' Academy again for residents in Duluth and surrounding communities in the southern part of the county. The Citizens' Academy provides a unique inside look at the Sheriff's Office and how it operates. Based on feedback from participants in previous Citizens' Academies, the course is being expanded to 12 weeks. Classes begin March 4 and will be offered Tuesdays from 6:30-9:30 p.m., with graduation set for May 20. Classes will include interactive presentations and tours to give citizens a better understanding of the range of services provided by the Sheriff's Office.
