St. Louis County property owners reminded to watch for valuation notices

The St. Louis County Assessor's Office has begun mailing out the annual Notice of Valuation and Classification to all property owners. This notice provides information on property classification and estimated market valuation. With approximately 150,000 total taxable parcels in the county, the notices are sent out in waves. Some residents have likely already received theirs; remaining notices will be mailed within the next several weeks.

Charles Armajo Case

The County Attorney’s Office received the above referenced case for prosecution on August 4, 2017.  A grand jury indictment was secured on March 21, 2018, resulting in charges of one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the Third Degree and two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the Fourth Degree.  Counts 1 and 2 of the Indictment involved a separate victim than Count 3.

Motor Vehicle Accident with Injuries

On Saturday April 24th, 2021, at approximately 22:17 P.M., the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office along with the Eveleth Police Dept., MN State Patrol, Mt. Iron Fire Dept., Virginia Ambulance/Fire Dept. and Lifelink Air Medical responded to the intersection of HWY 101 and Wolf Rd. in Mt. Iron, MN for a single vehicle accident with injuries.  It was determined that the involved vehicle had been traveling westbound on HWY 101, when the adult male driver, failed to negotiate the T-intersection at Wolf Rd.  The vehicle proceeded through the T-intersection and entered into a wooded area West of the intersection where it struck several large trees before coming to rest. The adult male driver and adult female passenger were both injured as a result of the accident.  They were treated on scene by the Virginia Ambulance Service and then airlifted by Lifelink Air Medical to St. Luke's hospital in Duluth. Their exact injuries are unknown at this time.  The identify of those involved are being withheld pending family notifications.  The accident remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

County encourages eligible businesses to apply for Restaurant Revitalization Funds

Financial help will be coming soon for restaurants, bars and other similar food or beverage businesses affected by the pandemic and subsequent shutdowns. St. Louis County is encouraging all eligible businesses to start preparing now to apply for these funds.
