With water levels starting to drop in some areas, St. Louis County Public Works is making progress in repairing roads washed out and closed by this week's rain and flooding. Temporary repairs are just about complete on two key roads - North Arm Road and Mud Creek Road - and they are expected to re-open by 5 p.m. this evening. Travelers should be aware that additional work is still needed to fully repair these roads, but that they are safely passable.
The St. Louis County Board will meet in an emergency session and is expected to declare a state of local disaster following this week’s heavy rain and flooding event. The Special Emergency Meeting will take place Thursday, June 20, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Lake Vermilion Room, Virginia Public Works Building, 7823 Highway 135 in Virginia.
