Esko man injured in ATV accident

On October 15, 2023 at 0041 hours, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, was dispatched to the 6800 block of Highway 47 in Alborn Township for a report of a single side-by-side accident where it was reported 49-year-old male Daniel James Doran, of Esko, had received significant, nonlife threatening injuries. Doran was treated by first responders on scene and ultimately flown by Likelink to Essentia Health Duluth to be treated for his injuries.

Missing female located North of Babbitt, MN

Missing female located North of Babbitt, MN

On October 12th, 2023, at approximately 7:40P.M., St Louis County Deputies were dispatched to the report of a missing / lost person in the area of Whisper Lake, which is approximately 5 miles North of the City of Babbitt, MN. At approximately 12:30 P.M., members of a Rescue Squad search group located the missing female. The female appeared to be uninjured but was ultimately transported by Babbitt Ambulance to the hospital to be further evaluated.

More than 2,500 people are scheduled to attend the 41st annual St. Louis County Health & Human Services Conference, which opens Wednesday at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC). St. Louis County Sheriff's Office offers first ever Citizens' Academy

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is offering the public a new opportunity for an inside look at how it operates through a 10-week Citizens' Academy. Classes begin November 1 and will be offered Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Classes will include interactive presentations and tours to give citizens a better understanding of the range of services provided by the Sheriff's Office. Any St. Louis County resident ages 18 or older may apply. Applicants will be required to pass a criminal background check. The deadline to apply is October 25, 2023.

Listening session on mental health needs

Listening session on mental health needs

The Northern St. Louis County Mental Health Local Advisory Council (LAC) is hosting a public meeting and listening session to gather input on mental health needs for children, older adults, and law enforcement. The listening session will be Thursday, October 19, 4:30-7 p.m., at the Mt. Iron Community Center, 8586 Enterprise Drive in Mt. Iron.
