With the May 15 property tax payment due date coming soon, the St. Louis County Auditor's and Recorder's offices have partnered to offer a new in-person payment option for property owners in the Hibbing area. In-person tax payments can now be made at the Hibbing Courthouse at the Recorder’s Office service window, 1810 12th Avenue East, Room 100, in Hibbing.
An important step in the assessment process is happening right now - county assessors are mailing property owners their annual Estimated Market Value (EMV) notifications. Some St. Louis County residents may have already received their 2025 EMV notice. Others should expect to receive theirs in the coming days.
The St. Louis County Board on Tuesday voted to authorize a bond sale of up to $45 million to build a new Public Works transportation building to serve the central Range region. The new campus will be centrally located in Balkan Township to serve Hibbing, Chisholm and surrounding communities.

Saturday, April 26, is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, an opportunity for people to safely dispose of unused or expired medications. St. Louis County; Carlton County; and Resource Renew, the brand of Western Lake Superior Sanitary District are all coordinating take-back events to make it as easy as possible for people to find a drop off location near them.
