One person was inside the home at the time of the fire, but was able to escape unharmed. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

A Saginaw man and his dog were found dead in their cabin. A generator was running inside and is believed to have been the source of the carbon monoxide. Anyone who uses a generator as a power source is reminded to place it a safe distance from sleeping/living quarters.

A Floodwood man was able to get out of his truck after it slid off a road and overturned, ending up partially submerged in a stream in Alborn Township. Speed and slippery roads are considered factors in the accident.

The 82-year-old camp near Gilbert has earned accreditation from the American Camp Association. This comes after a five year effort, supported by the County Board, to complete significant renovations and improvements at the camp.

Another reminder that ice conditions are still unpredictable in areas. A pick up truck went through the ice on Grand Lake in Saginaw. Thankfully, the occupants escaped before the truck sank.
