St. Louis County strives to improve the lives of county residents through housing opportunities and community development.
The County partners with local units of government, local agencies, organizations, and businesses to develop and implement strategies that will assist in strengthening communities through these resources:
The NE Minnesota HOME Consortium has been awarded special funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, and will be able to invest $1,736,159 in programs and projects assisting people experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable populations. The HOME Consortium is now seeking public input through a survey to identify needs for types of housing and other supportive services.
The HOME Consortium encompasses Cook, Lake, Koochiching, Itasca, and St. Louis County (outside the city of Duluth). St. Louis County serves as the lead agency and fiscal agent to the NE Minnesota HOME Consortium. The City of Duluth receives separate HOME-ARP funding.
Public input regarding these needs and priorities will guide the HOME Consortium Advisory Committee as it reviews project applications and makes recommendations on the award of HOME-ARP funds. While the HOME Consortium is interested in all housing and supportive service needs, HOME-ARP funding is restricted on what types of projects may be funded.
The deadline to complete the survey is February 28, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. Anyone with questions or who would like to request a paper copy of the survey please contact us at the information below.
