The St. Louis County Auditor's Service Center will fully reopen Friday in its usual location at the Miller Hill Mall. Service Center staff have been operating from a temporary location in the Courthouse in Duluth since March 15, following the collapse of a portion of the roof at the mall.
The St. Louis County Auditor's Service Center - normally located at the Miller Hill Mall - has set up temporary operations at the St. Louis County Courthouse in Duluth. Services will be offered in the Auditor's Office on the second floor of the courthouse until they are able to safely return to the Mall location.
St. Louis County has completed the issuance of $26 million general obligation bonds to construct three new Public Works Maintenance Facilities. The bond sale was authorized by the County Board in August, and today County Auditor Nancy Nilsen updated commissioners that the interest rates on the bonds came back at a very favorable 1.85%.
With the property tax deadline long passed, the St. Louis County Auditor's Office is reducing its in-person services at the Courthouse in Duluth. Anyone still needing to make payment for property taxes can use the secure drop box outside the Courthouse in Duluth or the Government Services Center in Virginia, or can submit their payment by mail, or in person at the Auditor's Service Center at the Miller Hill Mall.
The Auditor's Office had temporarily opened early last month due to high need for two of its services: property tax payments and voting. The office remains open as final elections details are completed.
These changes do not affect the Auditor's Service Center at the Miller Hill Mall, which re-opened this week following a mandatory five day closure to convert to the new state MNDRIVE system for motor vehicle transactions.
