St. Louis County offers maps for download in GeoPDF format for viewing in applications, such as Avenza Maps, that utilize georeferenced PDFs.  Users can view their current location, on St. Louis County maps, using the GPS in a smartphone or tablet.  It is not necessary to be connected to the internet or have cell service to use the maps once they've been downloaded to a device.

To Get Started

  1. Make sure your mobile device is connected to the internet while downloading the application and maps.
  2. Download the free Avenza Maps app for your Apple or Android mobile device. The app is used to read the GeoPDF and display your location.
  3. Download GeoPDFs listed below.

Android

Once the GeoPDF has been downloaded:

  1. Open Avenza Maps
  2. Tap the add button 
  3. Tap “download or import a map”
  4. Tap “From Device Storage”
  5. Navigate to the recently downloaded map

The map will then open in Avenza Maps.

Apple iOS

Once the GeoPDF has downloaded:

  1. Open the map
  2. Tap the upload button 
  3. Scroll to Avenza Maps

The map will then open in Avenza Maps.

Note: The free version is limited to having three maps downloaded to the app at any one time.
