St. Louis County has established a minerals program to acknowledge the importance of mining and minerals production to the region, specifically to the tax-forfeited Trust and taxing districts. Our goal is to manage the mineral wealth of St. Louis County through the responsible development of mineral resources while maintaining a focus on the local communities, economy and environment.

This program also supports the management of industrial minerals and products including sand, gravel and peat.
