St. Louis County deputies were dispatched to the report of a shooting at what was later determined to be an underage Halloween party located in Britt. An intoxicated, 22-year-old Hoyt Lakes man accidentally shot himself in the left leg with a handgun. The victim was transported to the Virginia Regional Medical Center by a private vehicle and treated for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. 

Deputies were alling to Fairview Range Hospital, where a 20 year-old Hibbing man had been brought with a single gunshot wound to the head. The man had been with friends at a bonfire at the Scott Lake boat landing located south of Buhl.

Deputies learned that friends of the victim heard a pop near his vehicle and located the victim laying near it. No foul play is suspected.

Fire destroyed a home in Canosia Township on Friday. The cause is believed to be accidental. No people were injured, however one dog was killed and a cat remains missing.
