A 24-year-old man had to be airlifted to a Duluth hospital following an accident on a trail near Crane Lake. The man lost control of his snowmobile while going around a curve, crashed into a tree and was thrown from the vehicle.

A 48-year-old man needed treatment for smoke inhalation following a fire that may have started in a bedroom. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

For the second consecutive day, a house fire has left one person dead. In this instance, two other people escaped safely. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

350 students from across the Iron Range will gather for the 22nd annual Make a Difference conference. Keynote speaker is J.R. Salzman, who reclaimed his title as world champion log roller despite sustaining serious injuries while serving in Iraq.
