The Lake Superior and Boundary Waters Drug and Violent Crimes Task Forces have merged, bringing together the resources of 20 city, county, state and federal law enforcment agencies, including the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, which previously had deputies serving on both task forces. 

A jury deliberated approximately four hours before convicting Robert Lund on multiple counts of aiding and abetting second degree murder and other charges. Sentencing will be next month.

The incident started with a report of a stolen vehicle in the City of Virginia. When that vehicle was spotted near Chisholm, a chase ensued. A deputy ultimately ended the chase using a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT). 

Two adults and a child had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance following a two vehicle crash on the Britt Bypass Road. The accident remains under investigation.

The County Board approved funding for 10 new or continuing projects aimed at stopping the introduction or spread of Aquatic Invasive Species.
