On February 3, 2024 at approximately 1117 hours, area first responders and law enforcement responded to the report of a male who’d been struck by a falling tree at a recreational property located approximately 10 miles north of Chisholm. The 66-year old victim had been clearing trees while seated on a tractor and was transported by ambulance to Fairview Range Hospital in Hibbing with what are believed to be serious injuries.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office will host a ceremony to swear in new corrections officers and recognize new 911 Emergency Communications Specialists, Court Security and other staff, as well as recently promoted employees within these divisions. The event will be Wednesday, January 31, at 3 p.m. at the Public Safety Building, 2030 Arlington Avenue, Duluth.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce that effective 12/01/2023 we installed seven (7) automated license plate reading (ALPR) cameras to solve and reduce crime.
On January 17, 2024 at approximately 8:20 PM members of the Lake Superior Violent Offenders Task Force and St. Louis Co Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at 4931 1/2 1st Ave. in the City of Hibbing.
During the execution of the search warrant, 2 individuals were arrested for various drug charges and child endangerment after 1 pound of methamphetamine was located in a vehicle. Additional searches yielded cocaine, suspected fentanyl pills and marijuana.
The 2 individuals were lodged at the SLC jail in Hibbing and are pending arraignment on 1/19/24.
