With water levels starting to drop in some areas, St. Louis County Public Works is making progress in repairing roads washed out and closed by this week's rain and flooding. Temporary repairs are just about complete on two key roads - North Arm Road and Mud Creek Road - and they are expected to re-open by 5 p.m. this evening. Travelers should be aware that additional work is still needed to fully repair these roads, but that they are safely passable.

Heavy rainfall on already saturated ground has led to road and culvert washouts throughout the county. The northern third of the county appears to have sustained the most rain and resulting damage. Currently 43 county roads are closed, 32 of which are in the northern portion of St. Louis County.
Meanwhile, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Emergency Management Division is in communication with local jurisdictions to begin the process of gathering damage assessment estimates.
