Road construction on Rice Lake Road begins Monday

The early closure of schools has accelerated one St. Louis County road construction project. Temporary traffic signals are being installed this week so that construction can begin Monday, May 4 to reconstruct a little more than half a mile of Rice Lake Road, widen the intersection at Arlington Avenue and Arrowhead Road and make improvements to Technology Drive.  The project will improve traffic flow and safety throughout the area, while also better accommodating pedestrians and other forms of transportation.

Spring road restrictions to end May 8 on St. Louis County roads

Spring load restrictions, which have been in place since mid March, will be lifted at the end of next week. Road restrictions will end on Friday, May 8, for both the North and North-Central Frost Zones, which cover all of St. Louis County. Certain roads may continue to have load limits based on their particular condition. Signs will clearly mark those roads.

Lost Child Found Unharmed in Woodland Search

On 04/30/2020 at around 1035 hrs. St. Louis County 911 was notified of a missing child from 2899 Pioneer Rd E. The reporting party ZACHARY CAMPBELL advised that his two-year old son, ARI SOL CAMPBELL, had run off into the woods from the home. The property was situated in an area consisting of numerous swamps, thick forest, and hilly terrain.

Construction resumes next week on Woodland Avenue/Calvary Road

Construction resumes next week on Woodland Avenue/Calvary Road

Work resumes next week on the next phase of the two-year project to reconstruct portions of Woodland Avenue and Calvary Road in Duluth. 

Starting next week, work will begin on Woodland Avenue to finish placing the concrete sidewalks and sod. No road closures are expected for this work, though people may encounter delays when traveling through the construction site; and, of course, are reminded to slow down and use extra caution anytime when traveling through a work zone.
