A four-month project to renovate and modernize the St. Louis County 911 Emergency Communications Center is now complete. Staff began fully operating out of the remodeled space at the Public Safety Building in Duluth earlier this month.

The project included rewiring the facility and purchasing 14 new Public Safety Answering Point Consoles. The remodel also involved new flooring and paint, plus an improved layout for better continuity of operations and efficiency between staff.

The St. Louis County Board has approved the distribution of $712,235 of state funds for seven projects that focus on preventing the introduction of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) or limiting their spread in lakes and rivers in St. Louis County.

Fire destroyed a home in Beatty Township near Cook. The cause remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.

The St. Louis County Attorney's Office has found no basis for criminal charges against a Virginia Police officer and two St. Louis County Deputy Sheriffs. This is in connection with an April incident in Chisholm that resulted in the death of Michael David Johnson.
