St. Louis County completes three-year "Bridge Bundling" project

Over the last three construction seasons, St. Louis County Public Works has replaced 17 bridges throughout the County, while MnDOT replaced an additional four bridges in neighboring Carlton County. The 21 bridges were awarded as one large "Bridge Bundling" project contract as part of a new Federal program to see if cost savings could be achieved by bundling similar projects together. The final cost for all 21 bridges is $25.33 million, an estimated savings of 10-15% compared to if each project had been done separately.
