Police Pursuit- Cook Area

On Saturday, August 2nd at approximately 0745 hours, St. Louis County Deputies received a report of a check welfare for a male passed out in the driver's seat of a vehicle parked near the railroad tracks on Johnson Rd east of Hwy 53 in the City of Cook.  The male woke up and sped off while Cook Ambulance arrived on scene.  911 Dispatch received further reports of the vehicle driving recklessly afterwards.

Fatal Residential House Fire- Beatty Township Update

At approximately 9:20 PM last night Deputies with the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office along with fire personal from Cook, Orr, Kinney-Great Scott and Greenwood were dispatched to a residential house fire in Beatty Township.  Upon arrival the house was fully engulfed.  Through investigation two parties were located in the residence deceased.  This incident is still under investigation and names are being withheld pending notification of family.  The Sheriff's Office along with the State Fire Marshall's Office are still actively investigating.

Plummer Sentenced

Plummer Sentenced

 

Today in St. Louis County District Court in Duluth, the Honorable Leslie Beiers sentenced Darrius Lamar Plummer, 35, to 225 Months in prison for the Second-Degree Murder without intent while committing a Felony, announced St. Louis County Attorney Kim Maki.  The court first denied Mr. Plummer’s Durational and Dispositional Departure Motions to receive a less serious sentence and instead pronounced the guideline sentence, calling Mr. Plummers actions “senseless.”
