Structure Fire 5400 blk Hwy 33 Industrial Township

Local area responders were paged for a structure fire in the 5400 block of Hwy 33 in Industrial Township at 9:48 AM. It was reported to 911 by passerby's that they observed smoke and flames coming from the residence. Fire crews responded and were able to quickly knock down the fire keeping fire damage contained to mostly one room. The residence suffered severe smoke and water damage. No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

On Sunday May 28th at approximately 2:32 P.M. St. Louis County Sheriff's Deputies, Gnesen, Rice Lake, Fredenberg, Normanna, Cotton, Ellsburg and MN Air National Guard Fire Departments responded to the report of a structure fire on the 4300 blk of Three Lakes Road in Gnesen Township. One injury is reported.

On May 29th, 2023, at approximately 0405 A.M., area fire departments, first responders, and medical units were dispatched to a call of a structure fire located in Unorganized Township 56R-16, which is in the area of Makinen Township, Southeast of Eveleth, MN. Four were injured.

Haines Road in West Duluth will be closed for five days beginning June 1 at the railroad crossing near where Haines Road and 40th Avenue West meet, near the intersection of West 8th Street. The closure will allow the CN Railroad to make needed repairs to the railroad crossing.
