Community Connect is an event designed as a one-stop-shop, providing a variety of free services for people who are struggling economically, to help connect them with resources available from agencies and non-profits in the community.

On August 16, 2025 at 1314 hours, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to the 5800 block of North Shore Drive for a report of a capsized vessel in the water with no one around. The United States Coast Guard also responded. Deputies located the kayak washed ashore, full of water with no one around along the shoreline of Stoney Point Drive near North Shore Drive. Attempts to contact the registered owner of the kayak were unsuccessful. 

Highway 44 will close Monday, Aug. 18, for about a week due to maintenance work at a railroad crossing.

Derrick Vincent Weatherly was sentenced to seven years in prison for Third Degree Murder in the 2022 overdose death of Christopher Michael Sauve in Duluth.
