On April 3rd, 2026 at 10:02pm, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to the 5700 Block of Marble Ave. in Mountain Iron due to a reported house fire. 

On March 31, 2026, at approximately 7:03PM, members of the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force, conducted a traffic stop in the 2700 block of Hwy 53 in Unincorporated  Township 56-17. The traffic stop was the result of a methamphetamine sales investigation conducted by members of LSVOTF.

On April 3^rd, 2026, at approximately 750AM the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the report of a head on crash involving a county plow truck and a pickup truck in the 4900 block of Fish Lake Rd in Fredenberg Township. 

On March 30, 2026, the Honorable Rachel Sullivan sentenced David Allen Hoskins, 62, of Sandstone, to 73 months in prison, announced St. Louis County Attorney Kim Maki.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office was able to positively identify one of the suspects in the ATM Jackpotting theft case from the North Star Credit Union in Mountain Iron as 21-year-old Nixon Ospino-Rodriguez.
