On April 20th, 2026, around 7:00 P.M. the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to the 5600 Block of Highway 21 in Embarrass Township for the report of a one vehicle accident.

Today, the Honorable Andrew R. Peterson sentenced Robert Allan Hannu, 60, to 109 months in prison for Third-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct – penetration with a child under 16 and 110 months in prison for Possess Pornographic Work – Minor under 14, announced St. Louis County Attorney Kim Maki.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office has become aware of a number of scam calls and text messages attempted in our area.  Calls and texts claim to be the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, more specifically in some cases, the St. Louis County jail.

Yesterday, in St. Louis County District Court in Duluth, after a three-day trial and five hours of deliberation, a jury found Michael Allen Hanson, 41, guilty of three counts of Second-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for multiple acts of sexual contact with a juvenile, announced County Attorney Kim Maki.

Yesterday, the Honorable Robert C. Friday sentenced Matthew Steven Tourigny, 39, to 288 months in prison for First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, announced St. Louis County Attorney Kim Maki.
