The early voting period for this November's election begins today, September 18. People wishing to vote early in person can do so at their designated early voting location. For anyone living in a city, the early voting location is likely their city hall. Township and unorganized township residents can vote at the County Auditor's Office. A list of locations where people can vote early in person can be found online at stlouiscountymn.gov/vote.

County Board approves waiving late fee on property taxes for those financially hurt by Covid-19

The St. Louis County Board has approved waiving the late fee for two months for people struggling to pay property taxes due to the financial impact of COVID-19. To be eligible, people must fill out a brief application, which can be downloaded from the county website at  stlouiscountymn.gov/propertytaxes. The deadline to apply for forgiveness of the late fee is May 31. Anyone granted the abatement then has until July 15 to pay their property taxes for the first half of the year.

Auditor's Service Center at Mall again able to process transactions through drop box

The St. Louis County Auditor's Service Center at the Miller Hill Mall is again able to process transactions using a secure drop box outside its door. The Service Center was closed last week in compliance with the Governor's executive order. However new guidance from the state is allowing deputy registrars to offer motor vehicle title and registration services, as long as it does not involve face to face contact.
