Missing Person: Janeen Bauer Peters

On November 19, 2018, family members of 57-year-old Janeen Bauer Peters reported to law enforcement that she was missing. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is concerned for her welfare and is asking for the public’s help in locating Peters. She was last seen Nov 11th driving her vehicle north of Duluth on North Shore Drive. Investigators believe on Nov 13th she was at a restaurant in Duluth.

Public Meeting on the Budget

The St. Louis County Board will hold two public meetings to receive comments on its 2019 proposed tax levy and operating budget. The first meeting is Thursday, November 29, at 7 p.m. in the Virginia Courthouse, lower level conference room. The second meeting will be Thursday, December 6, at 7 p.m. in the County Board Room on the second floor of the Duluth Courthouse.

A warning for dog owners in Rice Lake. Please keep a close eye on your pets when they are outside, and report anything suspicious. In the last month, there have been several reports of dogs getting sick for no clear reason. In at least two cases, the dogs have died. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division in Duluth at 218-336-4350
