On November 27, 2025 at approximately 12:30 PM St. Louis County deputies and Rescue Squad members responded to the report of a 55-year-old male who had gotten his snowmobile stuck in a swamp, approximately 5 miles northwest of Meadowlands.

On November 26, 2025, a jury found Michael Alvin Wesala, 43, guilty of two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the Second Degree, announced St. Louis County Attorney Kim Maki.

A 69-year-old man died after being struck by a falling tree while snowblowing his driveway in Alden Township.
