Commissioners unanimously approved the operating guidelines for the new scholarship program that will be funded by a portion of the minerals royalties the county receives. Beginning this fall, the four 2-year colleges within St. Louis County will each have $37,500 in scholarships to award to students.

More than 350 students from across the Iron Range and Duluth area will gather for a day of workshops presented by youth for youth. The conference is organized by Youth in Action, a program sponsored by the County Board.
