On August 10, 2026, at approximately 9:48 p.m., St. Louis County deputies, along with Fredenberg Fire, Fredenberg First Responders, and Mayo Ambulance, responded to the Fish Lake Boat Landing, located at 5664 Fish Lake Dam Road in Fredenberg Township, for a report of an arrow-type object that impaled in a person’s foot.

In the early morning hours of August 9, 2026, St. Louis County deputies were dispatched to the area of Pequaywan Lake Road and Fox Farm Road in North Star Township following a report of a person with a firearm who had shot toward another individual.

At 1:10 AM on August 8, 2026, St. Louis County Correctional Officers in the Duluth jail were alerted to an inmate having a medical emergency. Although extensive lifesaving measures were performed, the inmate did not regain consciousness and was pronounced deceased.
