What Are The Procedures? 

Fingerprinting an inmateEach visitor is required to register. Any visitor appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be denied the visit and asked to leave the facility. Visitors are not allowed to use tobacco, eat or drink during the visitation. Any visitor who attempts to smuggle tobacco or other prohibited materials into the jail will be asked to leave and have further visits denied. Rules of appropriate conduct apply to visitors as well as inmates during visits.

All visitors will be required to go through a metal detector and may be searched. Refusal will result in denial of visiting privileges. Visitors will not be allowed to carry anything on their person that has not been approved by jail staff.  Lockers are provided for visitors' property.

When Can I Visit?

Effective October 2, 2008 the visiting hours at the St. Louis County Jail - Duluth, Minnesota are as follows:


Segment 1  

1:00 p.m.  to  5:00 p.m.
Segment 2 6:30 p.m.  to  8:30 p.m.


Segment 1  

1:00 p.m.  to  5:00 p.m.
Segment 2 6:30 p.m.  to  8:30 p.m.


Segment 1  

1:00 p.m.  to  5:00 p.m.

Visiting on Holidays ONLY if they fall on the days above.

There are no visiting hours for the lock ups located in Virginia and Hibbing, MN as they are Class I Jails used to confine prisoners for up to 72 hours excluding weekends and holidays.
