Sheriff Henry Truelsen
TRUELSEN, CASPER HENRY (1844-1931).
Casper Henry Truelson was born in Schleswig, Germany on October 20, 1844 and came to the United States in 1866. Three years later he settled in Duluth; engaged in the grocery and general merchandise business until 1885; was sheriff of St. Louis county, 1887-8, and mayor of Duluth 1896. Truelsen served in Duluth as alderman, sheriff, and public works commissioner. In 1896 he was elected mayor during the famous clean water concern of the middle 1890s. (Source: NORTHEAST MINNESOTA HISTORICAL CENTER)
Henry Truelson lost the election to Paul Sharvey in 1888. He was relieved of his office on January 7, 1889.
