Information on programs that may reduce your property tax:

Homesteaders who are blind or totally and permanently disabled AND receiving benefits from an entity BECAUSE of their total and permanent disability may qualify for a Disability Homestead

Homesteaders who are veterans with a service-connected disability rating of 70% or more may qualify for a Disabled Veterans Market Value Exclusion

Property owners who have had at least 50% of a structure on their property destroyed by fire or natural disaster may qualify for Disaster Relief

Owners of productive agricultural land may qualify for Green Acres

Property owners and qualifying relatives who primarily occupy their home located in St. Louis County and are Minnesota residents may qualify for a Homestead Market Value Exclusion

Owners of unplatted real estate that is rural in character, not used for agricultural purposes & not improved with a structure AND under a qualifying forest management plan may qualify for Managed Forest Lands

Homeowners/renters whose property taxes  exceed a specified percentage of household income OR homestead properties where the property tax have increased more than 12% and at least $100 may qualify for a Property Tax Refund

Owners of nonproductive land that is part of an agricultural homestead may qualify for the Rural Preserve program

People 65 years of age or older, whose household income is $60,000 or less, to defer a portion of their homestead property taxes may qualify for a Senior Citizen Deferral

Private forest landowners practicing good stewardship and management of their forest land may qualify for the Sustainable Forest Incentive Act Program
