Kim Maki named to lead St. Louis County Attorney’s Civil Division

St. Louis County Attorney Mark Rubin has announced that Kimberly J. Maki (Kim) will be the new Head of the Civil Division, effective November 5, 2012.  Maki brings more than ten years of private practice experience to her new position and has been working for the St. Louis County Civil Division since August 2011.

Maki’s experiences with appraisers and appraisal techniques have been very beneficial to the County’s effectiveness in the area of property tax and appeals cases. She has established herself as a skilled practitioner particularly in the areas of mining and public works law.

Maki and her legal team of five seasoned civil attorneys will provide legal advice and support to County Commissioners and all County departments. Rubin notes that Maki’s intentional move from private practice to the public, county sector underlines her civic mindedness and dedication to pursuing a career in public service.

Tim Lee, current Civil Division Head, will be guiding the leadership transition process in the Civil Division in anticipation of his retirement. He will be retiring in February, 2013, with 30 years of service to the County.
