St. Louis County Recorder Mark Monacelli Honored with National Award
The St. Louis County Board will recognize County Recorder Mark A. Monacelli on Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at 9:30 AM at the County Board Meeting at the Duluth Courthouse for being honored with the 2006 Linda S. Carter Excellence in Government Award by the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials and Clerks (NACRC). This prestigious award was established in 2000 in remembrance of the Honorable Linda S. Carter, recognizing individuals like Carter who have exemplified leadership, ingenuity and excellence, and go above and beyond the call of duty respective to their duties and their office.
St. Louis County Recorder Mark A. Monacelli has served nearly a decade in the NACRC association, holding multiple positions of leadership including serving on their Board of Directors, on the Land Records and Finance Committees, as Secretary and as NACRC President in 2005.
St. Louis County Recorder Mark A. Monacelli also serves as President and Chairman of the Board of the Property Records Industry Association, and has served as President of the Minnesota Association of County Officers and President of Minnesota Recorders' Association. He was named 2000 Recorder of the Year by the Minnesota Association of County Officers and in 2003 was named Public Official of the Year by the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials and Clerks.
Mark A. Monacelli has extensive involvement in setting national standards for the electronic recording of documents, developing private and public sector partnerships and seeks uniformity in the 3,600 recording jurisdictions within the United States. Monacelli is credited with incorporating the wise use of technology in the St. Louis County Recorder's Office to streamline operations, maintain cost controls, and improve customer service.
