Highway 133 Bridge Closure at Whiteface River

The St. Louis County Public Works Department is currently closing the bridge on Highway 133 at the Whiteface River. This bridge is located approximately one-half mile east of Meadowlands. As of this afternoon, water in the Whiteface River was pushing up against the bridge deck. Upon review by the St. Louis County Bridge Engineer, it was determined the bridge should be closed in the interest of public safety as this fast rushing water could threaten the superstructure of the bridge.

At this time, St. Louis County does not know when the Whiteface River will begin to recede. It is anticipated the bridge may be reopened later this weekend. No detour will be provided. Traffic is asked to seek an alternate route. St. Louis County regrets the inconvenience to area residents and others who regularly use this route, and will provide further updates and timelines regarding the bridge as soon as additional information is known.
